The Tower of London

The Tower of London has been the setting for many great events during its 900-year history as a royal palace and fortress, prison and place of execution, arsenal, mint, menagerie and jewel house.

Prisoners of the Tower

New permanent displays on the theme of prisoners have been installed in the Bloody Tower and Beauchamp Tower at the Tower of London. The new displays incorporate the latest audio and visual effects to create an exciting and interactive experience for visitors. Learn how prisoners spent their time whilst confined in these rooms and contemplate the reality of Tower imprisonment compared to the popular myths.

Torture at the Tower

In years gone by the Tower was a place synonymous with terror for many, but thankfully these days it's a much more pleasant experience! But now, to keep you on your toes, we have a brand new display: Torture, which will collectively exhibit, for the first time, a range of torture instruments, known to have been used in past centuries on unfortunate traitors in the Tower. Visit this new display and let your imagination transport you to harsher times.....
