Sport and Activity Clubs and WorkshopsWhatever your child may express an interest in, you will find a club in London to accommodate their enthusiasm. Make the most of it - you won't find such choice anywhere else in the country! Whether you have a budding cricketer, footballer, seamstress, linguist, scientist or environmentalist, you will find an organisation to nurture talent and energy. Here is just a tiny selection of what is on offer: Active Places This website allows you to search for sports facilities any where in England. Thames 21 Bringing London's waterways to life The majority of Thames21's work takes place with the help of volunteers. Individuals, community groups, schools and local businesses take part in our projects and events every year. It's the involvement of local people that enables Thames21 to make a practical and positive difference to London's rivers and canals. FootballChelsea Football Club's Community Development was formed in 1992 and runs various football related activities for children between the ages of 6-14 years, these include Free Coaching in Schools, After School Coaching, Teacher Training Days, School Sports Activity Days, School Fetes, School Assembly's, Non Residential Soccer School, Residential Soccer Schools, Saturday/Sunday Morning Clubs etc. Children of above average talent who participate in their activities also have the chance of being selected for one of the Advanced Academies. Fulham Football Club run a wide range of Soccer Courses for kids during the school holidays - these courses cater for players of all abilities and provide a great way to learn new skills, make friends and have fun. They offer excellent value-for-money and are highly recommended by participating kids and their parents alike. League One Sports Academy Offering weekly and holiday football training for children aged 3-11 years old. Saturday morning sessions are held at 9.30am-11.00am for 5-7 and 8-10 year olds at South Hampstead High School, Maresfield Gardens NW3. The Term Time Football Club is held at Hampstead Cricket Ground, in Lymington Road NW6, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4.30pm-5.30pm. Little League One - Specially devised football classes for 3-4 year olds. Action-packed sessions introduce players to basic football skills with a range of safe and gentle drills and exercises. Classes held Saturday morning and during the week. Action-packed five day courses take place during all half-term breaks plus Easter, summer and Christmas holidays at South Hampstead High School, NW3. Sessions run from Monday to Friday from 10.00am -3.00pm. Little League One Holiday Courses for 3-4 year olds are held Monday-Friday from 10.00am-1.00pm. CricketEaling Cricket Club Their aim is to provide enthusiasm and encouragement to all young cricketers; both boys and girls from 5 years of age and upwards. Courses are run during school holidays and weekends. Ken Barrington Cricket Centre named after Ken Barrington, the famous England and Surrey cricketer, this magnificent facility boasts six cricket nets and indoor sports facilities. Nets are available for hire by clubs, individuals, schools, groups and cricket organisations, along with expert tuition from experienced and qualified coaches. The following facilities and services are available: Middlesex County Cricket Club Offering Cricket Camps and courses for boys and girls aged 10-19 years at the Academy in Finchley. The aim is to teach the skills and ethos of the game using group coaching and practice games, as appropriate to the child's age. General SportJags Sports Club They have a superb, multi-purpose sports and fitness club catering for people of all ages. Facilities include a 25 metre pool, a fully equipped fitness suite, eight all-weather tennis courts and two squash courts. In the spacious sports hall you can play badminton, tennis, basketball, table tennis and volleyball. Leisure Connection in Lambeth Throughout the four centres; Brixton, Clapham, Flaxman and Streatham a variety of sports are on offer: swimming, football, cricket, basketball and much more. There is also an Adventure World which is four floors of fun - ball pits, climbing frames, ropes and slides. London Borough of Hounslow has seven leisure centres offering both wet and dry side facilities. There is an extensive summer programme across the sites, including basketball, trampolining, netball, tennis, football, swimming and golf. The centres also invite youngsters to enjoy traditional circus acts and other shows, family pool discos and the Play centres at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre, Feltham Airparcs Leisure Centre and Isleworth Recreation Centre have proved extremely popular for birthday parties or just an afternoon out with friends. Crystal Palace Courses include swimming, football, tennis, climbing, athletics, trampolining, Wet & Wacky, snorkelling, basketball, short tennis, Top Play, Spike Kids Club and Team Sports. GymThe Little Gym is the first dedicated children's indoor gym of its kind in the UK open to children from 4 months to 12 years. The classes aim to increase confidence and self-esteem in a nurturing, non-competitive setting, helping children develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially through gymnastics, sports, games, exploration and creativity within a safe, nurturing and positive setting. Weekly classes are led by well-trained, experienced staff and are designed to teach children in a fun, yet challenging environment. They also run fun theme based summer and holiday camps which include obstacle courses, group activities, movement challenges and arts & crafts for children 3-8 years. LanguagesFrench and Spanish a la Carte French and Spanish tuition for children and adults from the age of 2 up to 'A' level standard. Classes are taught by native French and Spanish teachers within a friendly, relaxed environment. Children learn through manual activities, songs, games, quizzes, etc. For the older children and adults the courses are more structured. Club Petit Pierrot offering French lessons to children aged from 8 months to 9 years old. With 7 seven around London, they also offer Summer Camps in St Johns Wood and Chelsea. ScienceMad Science aimed at children from 3-12 years old, programmes are presented at birthday parties, after school clubs, holiday clubs, school workshops and special events. Highly trained, and CRB checked, Mad Scientists involve the children through a combination of interactive experiments, group activities and presented experiments which include Rocket launches, hovercraft rides, slime making and bubbling potions. TechnologyFuture Kids has been teaching computer literacy to children and adults for over 15 years, through an innovative, proprietary computer curriculum. Design and TextilesLittle Hands Design runs classes for children and adults who want to put their fashion ideas into practise. Imagine being able to use the sewing machine and dress to impress in clothes and accessories you have created yourself! This is a great opportunity for hands-on fun with fashion for everyone from 8-88 years! Experimenting with the latest seasonal trends Little Hands Design offers exciting projects at all dexterity levels such as handbag making, jewellery fun, fashion illustration, pattern construction and much more. General FunThe Buzz With separate programs catering for 0-11 years and 11-19 years, The Buzz covers after school clubs, holiday clubs, drama, dance and sport. NatureThe London Wildlife Trust for young environmentalists (8-14 year-olds). Wildlife Watch is the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts and is made up of a network of local groups, run by qualified volunteers who organise environmental activities for children throughout the country.
