National Children's Book WeekChildren's Book Week runs from 2-8 October 2006. The focus is on the enjoyment of reading and the aim is to encourage as many children as possible to get into books. Launch at the Unicorn Theatre, LondonMichael Rosen, Polly Dunbar, Nick Arnold and Simon Bartram will all be appearing at a fun-packed event to launch Children's Book Week 2006. National Poetry DayThe theme of this year's National Poetry Day (Thursday 5 October) is 'Identity'. As part of the celebrations poet Jackie Kay will be the Poetry Society's 'virtual' poet in residence. There is also a wonderful opportunity for a secondary school to 'Win Jackie Kay for the Day'. |
